The day came when my favourite pair of jeans were beyond repair and I could not sew up the holes in my knees any more.
So what did I do?? I used the soft blue denim as a back drop to a new craft I’ve been trying…
…EMBROIDERY!!
You can buy the hoops relatively cheaply either online or from local craft stores, also keep your eyes peeled in your local charity shops as you can often snag a bargain.
I have fallen in love with the bee trend from the last couple of years so that inspired my design.

Tools you would need:
Embroidery needles
Embroidery Thread: definitely yellow and black for the bee but you can choose any colour you like for your lettering and flowers.
Fabric: I used denim but you can use any fabric you like, or could even embroider onto an existing garment.
Directions:
Place your fabric over your bottom embroidery hoop. Place your top loop over and press down until you are two thirds over your bottom loop. Begin tightening the screw on the top of your loops, then just before tightening fully push your top loop fully on.
I freehanded this design but you can definitely draw on your image lightly with a pencil or invest in a fabric pen which disappears after time.
For this project I have used all 6 strands of my embroidery thread, you can separate the strands for a finer finish.
For the majority of this design I have used a basic Back Stitch but for the centre of my daisies I have used a french knot.
This craft does take a little time to perfect and does take a little patience but the results are great and it’s lots of fun.
