Sea Glass Earrings

My obsession with SeaGlass started in 2016. Sea Glass can be found on beaches across the country, they are small pieces of glass that have been naturally tumbled by the ocean and wash up on shore. Certain colours of glass are particularly rare such as blue and the elusive red!

I keep a beady eye on the tide tables and head to the beach to hunt for material!!

I then use the glass I collect to make bespoke pieces of Jewellery or other unique crafts.

When you want to make some gorgeous earrings you have to search hard to find two matching pieces. It’s almost impossible to find two exact pieces but that adds to the ‘uniqueness.’

I use silver plated wire to wrap my pieces of glass. Lots of tutorials on YouTube and ideas on Pinterest to help beginners to this craft. You can source the wire online and also in local and national craft centres. It is measured in millimetres, I usually go for a 0.4 – 0.8mm gauge.

I do tend to favour silver over gold, this is just personal preference. There is a massive variety of Earring Fastenings that you can choose from.

I bought these loops online but can also find them in craft stores- or you could reuse some fastenings from some earrings you already own.

By using left over necklace chain I’ve created a delicate pair of dangle earrings. This means you can use two colours on each side and add they’ll work with more outfits.
