Have you ever thought about transforming a vintage sieve into a piece of wall art for your kitchen? No? Why not?

I just love experimenting with different materials and objects- my favourite hunting ground is car boot sales in the UK. I bought two vintage sieves for £1 and set about how to transform them into something interesting.
I absolutely love to needle felt- and I LOVE the Bee theme that has been everywhere the last few years.
I used a little bit of toy filler to build the body of the bee and then used yellow, white and black felt to create the iconic stripes. I used silver craft wire to attach them to the sieve and made it look like a busy little hive 🐝

An alternative … a bumble bee brooch

These Kilt Pins are available from most craft stores and online retailers. They are relatively inexpensive, I got these from a local store that specialises in beads and they charged 50p each.
I really loved creating these little bees and thought about other uses for them. So, I needle felted a few more, along with a little flower and a bee hive and added them to a gorgeous silver plated Kilt Pin.
I added a black loop of cotton on top of each element and used a silver jump loop to add them to the pin.
