Pardon the pun, please!! A really fun needle felt project and a great one for beginners!

A lovely addition to a fairy scene or just a quirky sculptural piece!
To make your own:
Collect some driftwood or reclaimed wood and clean.
Use a pipe cleaner as the middle of your stem.
Choose the colours for your toadstool and build up from the stem- make the rounded form of the mushroom in the same colour as the stem.
To construct in needle felting you need a specific barbed needle, with a kind of wool called roving. You ball your roving wool and begin poking it with the needle, agitating the fibres until they stick together.
Then add your chosen colour and details to the top.
Glue your toadstool to the wooden base – I added some green felt to the bottom to complete the look!
Done!
